13. Cutting Caffeinated Coffee
Decaf
Now for the record I’m not anti-caffeine but I’m anti having to rely on it to live my day and believe me I relied on it! I was probably a six cups in the morning kind a girl (probably more if I was totally honest). The thing that had held me back from quitting this addictive habit was the dreaded headaches from caffeine with-drawl. The fear of the headaches outweighed the gains of not drinking caffeinated coffee. A little luck came my way to help kick start this 18 day challenge in the form of a 24 hour vomiting virus. Now I hear what you are saying how can a vomiting bug be good luck? Yes, I had the dreaded headaches but combined with the nausea and body aches, I felt so ‘crappoly’ that I couldn’t eat or drink anyway. Once I pushed through the first 24 hours there was no looking back! What I didn’t plan for and it seems so simple now is I should have not only cut out caffeine but replaced it with drinking more water. All I have managed to do now is to replace the caffeine with drinking copious amounts of decaf products. Bummer! Drinking more water may have to be its own 18 day challenge.
