Bursting Bubbles As the Auckland area remains in lockdown the rest of New Zealand gears for the loosening of restrictions. Bursting Bubbles The transition out of lockdown requires the ‘bursting of bubbles’. Everyone’s situation is different. For some this might bring a sense of relief, others sadness and others overwhelming joy. What we know from the other lockdowns is the stillness and quiet tends to get replaced with the ‘treadmill’ of daily life, but with the dial turned up to a sprint. It can feel like once you jump back on you run as fast as you can until you get spat out the back. For me as a mum I can already feel the anxiety that comes with ‘addition sickness’ creeping in. This is where everything that didn’t happen in lockdown gets jammed into what was already a crowded space. At these times, it can be helpful to consider ‘JOMO’ (Joy of missing out) which is the polar opposite of ‘FOMO’ (Fear of missing out). So if you can, just take a moment to think about what are the little treasures in life that come with not doing something you were supposed to do?If you find some gold in there, how do you keep it shining when the pressure of daily life gets in the way?
